    Automotive Exhaust

    Automotive internal combustion engines are a significant source of pollution. It is important to minimize their environmental impact. Internal combustion engine manufacturers therefore must optimize engines efficiency towards reduction of the amount of greenhouse and other gases produced.

    Trucks, cars and engine manufacturers all work towards that goal, utilizing both real-time and gas-bags sampling methods to evaluate the improvement in efficiency of their engines as measured by a reduction if greenhouse and other gases emitted.

    To accomplish this goal, they require analyzers that are reliable, precise, not subject to cross response (regardless of the type of fuel used; E10, E85, light diesel, rich diesel) and with a sampling system that requires as little cleaning as possible without increasing response time.

    The ProCeas AUTOMOTIVE EXHAUST, based on the patented OFCEAS (Optical Feedback Cavity Enhanced Absorption Spectroscopy) technology coupled to the patented low pressure sampling technology enables the measurement of CH4, Ethanol, CO, NO, N2O and/or NH3 in automotive exhaust in real time.

    Measurement of any or all of these compounds under these conditions:

    - is reliable;

    - is very low maintenance;

    - is insensitive to cross response phenomena;

    - has very low levels of detection;

    - has response times measured in seconds;

    - has a wide dynamic concentration;

    - does not experience instrumental response drift (self-standardization);

    - does not require regularly schedule re-calibration (self-calibrating direct measurement);

    - does not require sample conditioning;

    - is a laser spectrometer capable of multi-components analysis.

    The ProCeas Automotive Exhaust Analyzer can be configured for the simultaneous measurement of any or all of the following compounds: NH3, NO, CO, N2O, CH4 and/or Ethanol.
