    Greenhouse Gases (GHG's)

    Greenhouse gases (GHG's) consist of chemical in gas phase capable of absorbing infrared radiations (heat) reflected by the earth surface, thus contributing to the "Greenhouse" effect. Increase concentration in GHG's in the atmosphere is believed to be a significant contributor to global warming.

    The main greenhouse gases are:

    - Water vapor (H2)

    - Carbon dioxide (CO2)

    - Methane (CH4)

    - Nitrous oxide (N2O)

    - Ozone (O3)

    Today, especially considering the ever increasing human activity, society has taken action to limit the amount of GHG's emitted in the atmosphere and to enforce such limits based on strict measurements of CEM's.

    Monitoring concentration of GHG's in CEM's requires access to real-time response analytical instrumentation with fast response, low LoD's, and strict chemical selectivity capabilities. The latter is particularly important to avoid any cross response with the analysis.

    The ProCeas GHG, based on the patented OFCEAS (Optical Feedback Cavity Enhanced Absorption Spectroscopy) technology coupled to the patented low pressure sampling technology enables such measurements.

    Measurement of any or all of these pure compounds and/or mixtures under these conditions:

    - is reliable;

    - is very low maintenance;

    - is insensitive to cross response phenomena;

    - has very low levels of detection;

    - has response times measured in seconds;

    - has a wide dynamic concentration;

    - does not experience instrumental response drift (self-standardization);

    - does not require regularly schedule re-calibration (self-calibrating direct measurement);

    - does not require sample conditioning; and

    - is a laser spectrometer capable of multi-components analysis.
