New Real-Time, In-Line Coating Thickness Measurement Analyzer

After 2 years of on-site validation, ap2e officially commissioned its first Epsilon Real-Time, In-Line Coating Thickness Analyzer at ARCEO (ArcelorMittal group) in Liège (Belgium) for routine production analysis operation.
The Epsilon analyzer is capable of measuring thickness of various organic coatings on many different rolling free strand substrates in line and in real-time.
The Epsilon Analyzer is a world first! It is the only coating thickness analyzer capable of predicting the final thickness of coating on the rolling strand after oven-drying while operating before oven drying operation, i.e. by making the measurement on the still-wet coating only a few feet away from actual deposition of the organic coating on the rolling strand substrate.
The Epsilon analyzer is mounted on a traveling mechanism allowing measurement of coating thickness in real-time over the entire width of the substrate material and is certified for operation in ATEX environment.
The Epsilon analyzer was fully validated by ARCELOR RESEARCH (the R&D group of Arcelor Mittal) and is expected to be the first of many units commissioned for the steel maker.
